Design For Wellbeing

More than often we find various ways to relax from a long stressful day or time in our lives such as going to the gym, reading, taking walks relaxing at a spa day etc.

All things do help relax the mind and body, however one thing that we often neglect is our most common surroundings. Places that we spend a lot of our time like our homes or offices are not always designed in a way to help us with our overall wellbeing.

Thinking about things that we can place in our home to relax such as natural materials, colours and textures based around nature can all help with feeling more relaxed when you might be faced with a stressful time within your life.

One thing that should be considered in offices and busy homes is placing greenery within the interior. There are a lot of health benefits from placing greenery indoors, for example plants produce water vapour humidifying the air and reducing the likelihood of headaches. Studies have shown that plants also increase concentration and productivity by up to 15%.

Greenery in the office environment is known to improve the overall mood and naturally make the unman being more relaxed and calm.  This results in a more productive day and minimal stress while in the work environment.

Creating your own Garden

Living in a small space is no excuse not to explore with nature in your home and start creating your own plant heaven. In fact if you are living in a small space I would advise creating your own garden to prevent feeling the sense of being cramped in a small space.  You will start to notice improvements to your own health and overall wellbeing.

You will also find a sense of enjoyment and purpose by looking after the plants and watching them bloom. You can also name your plants to feel a further connection with the plants that you are looking after.
